The Student Registry is a comprehensive platform that enables students to create personalized wishlist budgets for each semester. TSR then offers a secure and user-friendly way to fundraise with the support of friends, family, and the community.
Fiercely passionate about helping students continue their path to higher education, Alex Boylan and Lisa Hennessy created The Student Registry platform to help fix a major hurdle for students – the cost of their college education.
Founder
As the founder and host of the award-winning TV series The College Tour, Alex has spent years traveling to over 175 colleges across the country, meeting thousands of students. What he learned along the way is that students need help with the financial part of college – both creating a budget for the costs of each semester and then getting help funding that budget for items both big and small.
At a young age, Alex learned the power of telling your story on video when he auditioned for the hit CBS TV series The Amazing Race. He made it on the show and won the competition, changing the course of his life. Over the last 20 years, he has created and hosted numerous innovative shows. He has also used his diverse media background to launch new companies that help solve key problems. See bio here. The Student Registry is an extension of that innovative background. It is a way for students to share their story with their friends and family and in doing so help solve their financial hurdles.
Founder
As the founder and executive producer of The College Tour TV series, Lisa too has traveled across the US meeting both high school students and college students. Helping students succeed is her “why”. She is extremely passionate and dedicated to her work with the College Tour TV series and now The Student Registry platform. Right after college, Lisa moved from Chicago to Los Angeles and started her journey in the world of entertainment. She is an Emmy nominated TV producer, network TV showrunner and serial entrepreneur. Over the course of her 30 plus years in the entertainment and media industry she co-founded and helped build several companies. She helped develop the hit series Survivor (CBS), Executive Produced The Eco-Challenge (Discovery Channel), The Contender (NBC, ESPN), Rock Star (CBS), The Biggest Loser (NBC), Expedition Impossible (ABC), The World’s Toughest Race (Amazon Prime Video), and many more. In her free time, Lisa is an intrepid world traveler and enjoys mentoring young people around the globe. See bio here.
